Mr McGrath came to us looking for some bespoke signage for a more traditional look. He supplied an image of a pair of glasses hanging from an old wooden signboard and asked if we could produce something similar. He also provided an image of a shop originally belonging to M & J Boyle in Glasgow High Street, showing the original 3 dimensional lettering uncovered through recent shop renovations, asking if it was possible to reproduce lettering in the same style.
We started with the 3 dimensional lettering, with each letter cut out of 19mm thick uPVC foamboard and carefully routed to shape before sanding to a smooth finish and painted in a bright silver metallic paint. We then moved on to the glasses, cutting them out of steel and welding them together. The board itself is constructed out of foamboard with a uPVC frame, so it can withstand the worst of Scottish winter weather. Finally the projecting sign bracket was fabricated out of heavy duty steel.
